Wales welcome Finland to the Cardiff City Stadium on March 21 as the two sides face off for a spot in the final of the Qualifier Playoffs.
- Wales vs Finland - Tips & Prediction
Wales have the home-ground advantage as they face off against Finland to move closer to a spot in the main Euro 2024 draw. They only match they have lost at home in the entire qualification stage was against Armenia. Robert Page’s side head into this encounter against Finland without having lost any of their last five matches. But they have stuttered as their last two outings ended in frustrating draws against Armenia and Turkey.
Finland, on the other hand, have not enjoyed good form in recent weeks, having lost three of their last five games. They did manage to turn their losing run into a winning one, as they have won their most recent two matches against Northern Ireland and San Marino, which has granted them this semifinal spot in the Euro 2024 Qualifier Playoffs.
Facing Wales at home will not be easy for the Finnish side as they haven’t managed to beat the home side even once in their last four encounters. The two sides were in the same group of the UEFA Nations League in 2020, and Wales triumphed in both legs of their group-stage encounters.
Euro 2024 Qualifier Playoffs - Wales vs Finland - Tips & Prediction
Despite being without Gareth Bale, Wales have a strong attack with Brandon Johnson and Harry Wilson at the forefront. They also have a solid defence which can shut down opponent attackers effectively. Wales also have the experience of making it through Qualifying playoffs as they were in the same position before the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They managed to get into the main draw by beating Austria and Ukraine.
Finland goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky has done a fantastic job for Bayer Leverkusen this season, and the Finnish team can work together as a tight unit to get results. However, the odds are in favour of a Wales victory in this one, despite a close encounter.
Verdict
Wales to win.
